Mercedes-Benz has pulled out of the 2020 New York Auto show, after they had already pulled out of both the Detroit and Chicago auto shows earlier this year. Money is most likely a huge factor in this decision as it costs millions for an automaker to attend top level shows such as these. Mercedes-Benz seems to be concentrating on launching vehicles and engaging with consumers in different ways, using digital tools and retail-based methods.

Porsche has been receiving a lot of attention from Tesla owners for its new, electric Taycan sports car. The CEO for Porsche said that out of the thousands of potential, future customers, Tesla owners have been showing the most interest in the product. Behind Tesla owners, Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz owners were the next largest group to show interest in experiencing the new vehicle.

Automotive News reports Mercedes-Benz will not be attending the upcoming New York Auto Show. One of the biggest and most important on the annual circuit, it’s scheduled for early April 2020.

Mercedes-Benz’s exit from New York is curious, as the region is a major market for luxury vehicles. It’s worth noting, however, this move is part of a broader trend. Porsche attracting Tesla owners with all-electric Taycan sports car

Porsche is receiving a surprising amount of interest from Tesla owners for its new all-electric Taycan sports car, according to the head of the automaker’s North American operations.

Klaus Zellmer, president and CEO Porsche Cars North America, said out of “thousands” of potential U.S. customers who have shown “sincere interest” in the vehicle, Tesla owners are the highest among non-Porsche owners.
