The disappointing EPA test results

The new Porsche Taycan has been rated by the EPA and the numbers are not looking great. The rating is for the Taycan Turbo S and the range only came out to about 192 miles in the tests conducted by the EPA. Porsche took it upon themselves to hire a third party testing company and those results far surpassed the EPA’s numbers. The test conducted by Porsche showed that the car has a range of up to 278 miles.

Technology has accelerated at a fast pace in the last few years and the automotive industry has been no exception. Porsche Taycan EPA Range Goes from Bad to Worse

The new Porsche Taycan EV continues to disappoint in terms of efficiency ratings, as the EPA has now released numbers for the top-dog Taycan Turbo S.

As expected, the Turbo S—which has a more powerful rear electric motor—is even less efficient than the Turbo, posting a result of 68 MPGe combined and a range of 192 miles in the EPA’s testing. Learn more
